After watching a reasonable amount of international athletic competition over the past week and a half, I'm realizing more and more how little difference there is between developers and Olympic athletes.
They train. We train.
They form teams. We form teams.
They strategize and execute. We strategize and execute.
They do the unthinkable. We figure out how to wire two Drupal custom modules together, manipulate some other pre-generated Drupal forms, re-route url requests, hijack the display on the server end a little, hijack it some more with some jQuery, and create exactly what we wanted using a bunch stuff other people built as building blocks. You see what I'm saying?
Maybe this is all just a result of spending 30 minutes on a client phone call in the parking lot today at 1:30pm in August in Phoenix, Arizona.
Or maybe I'm onto something...
