Ready to see what the fuss is all about?

Drupal powers some of the biggest and most important sites on the web, as well as thousands of small business and individual sites. And honestly the job market for Drupal talent is red hot. If you have a general idea of how content management systems work, but little to no Drupal experience, this course will get you off to the right start.

In honor of the Drupal Association's June Global Drupal Training Day, Ashday is pleased to present this free introductory course to get you up and going building your first site. Our goal is to get you over the first bump on the Drupal learning curve.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Understand how a typical site is build in Drupal, including the page model.
  • Correctly use Drupal-specific terminology like field, view, node, block, and page.
  • Understand how to do things the “Drupal way”.
  • Figure out what skills you need to develop in order to reach your goals.
  • Know where to go to find career opportunities in Drupal.

This class will be taught online by a live trainer. We will be performing learning exercises in a hosted environment, which you can access and control through your browser, as well as meeting software that will allow us to talk to each other. Put another way, all you really need is a web browser. However, you will want a fast connection to the internet and a reasonably fast computer running that browser.

We will be building our sites using Drupal Gardens (a free Drupal hosting service), so please signup for an account before the class starts, and try to get familiar with its interface. http://www.drupalgardens.com
